Labour for Irish Unity

LfIU Labour Party Conference fringe meeting

The Labour for Irish Unity (LfIU) fringe meeting at this year’s Labour Party Conference takes place on Monday 26th September from 7-8.30pm at The Quaker Meeting House, 22 School Lane, Liverpool L1 3BT.

A new and united Ireland – join the conversation:

  • Michelle O’Neill, Designate Northern Ireland First Minister, Sinn Fein
  • Professor Colin Harvey, Ireland’s Future
  • Gerard McDonald, Former Vice-Chair of SDLP
  • Bell Ribeiro-Addy, Labour MP
  • Geoff Bell, author and LfIU Political Officer
  • Chair: Nadine Finch

“Labour should acknowledge and welcome the growing debate across Ireland and within the Irish community and labour movement in Britain about what a new 32 county Ireland should look like, and seek to be part of this conversation. This means not seeking ways to strengthen Northern Ireland’s links with the UK, but rather asking how we can help the realisation of an emerging vision of a new Ireland, at peace with itself.”

Nadine Finch.

Labour for Irish Unity (LfIU) is a labour movement organisation open to members of trade unions, the Labour Party and Irish organisations. It works in solidarity with those seeking self-determination for the island of Ireland and in opposition to the many human rights abuses that have and do occur in the North of Ireland.
